An established language school with a strong reputation, a loyal student base, and a website that had not kept pace with either. Little Mandarin Talkers in St Albans had outgrown what they had - and it was showing.

Platform used: WordPress

The challenge

The existing website was outdated, not mobile-friendly, and desperate for a redesign to reflect the school’s current language course offering and teaching staff. More practically, it needed to present complex class information clearly across multiple levels, ages and abilities, and to manage a multifaceted application process - all without requiring significant technical resource from the owners to maintain.

What I did

With a strong brand identity already in place, the project focused on structure and usability rather than visual redesign from scratch.

I interviewed the owners to map out the full course offering and identify the key things different types of visitors needed to find quickly: prospective students researching classes, parents looking at children’s options, and existing students checking schedules. Those goals drove the site architecture.

WordPress was selected as the platform for its flexibility in handling complex content structures while remaining straightforward for non-technical owners to update day to day.

The application process was redesigned to handle the complexity of multiple class types, levels and requirements without becoming overwhelming - with an application form that asks the right questions using boolean logic to guide users to the booking point.

The result

We love our new site - thank you. It is really clear and easily navigable, especially all our different class information. We have had a great response from our clients.
